Do you actually mean ultraviolet?IR, natural and UV light
If you happen instead to mean
infrared (IR), then certainly there are some web cams that are
sensitive to IR. Particularly search for "security" cameras. Often
they have a ring of IR LEDs surrounding the lens. Of course they tend
to be more costly than "video chat" sorts of web cams.the once I've seen do black and white IR not color IR
It is possible that the sensors on web cams are naturally sensitive to
IR and that they, also, have a built in "hot mirror." I have found
off brand, "last year's" model web cams at a local "recycled
computers" store for $10 to $20. If you can find something at that
price, you could just buy one, take it apart and see if it looks like
there's something "on top of" the sensor that you could just peel
off. In a manner of speaking. ;)
I wish I was a hardware hacker, but I am more of a software hacker
