No, you used the DR tag in the template and BONUS:DR in the spell.
Once you had a DR tag, the BONUS DR tag could take effect.
Basically, if there is no DR tag for the BONUS:DR to work on it skips
it. Once you added a DR tag, the BONUS:DR tag went into effect too.

Planned behavior, just like a VAR. If you don't have a DEFINE tag
for a VAR somethere that is active for the character, any BONUS:VAR
statement referencing that is ignored.
It even notes this in the docs for the BONUS:SR tag:
