Negotiations for the release of the Metropolitans Paul Yazigi and Mark Gregory Juhani Ibrahim, whom extremists kidnapped on April 24 of this year, near Aleppo, are being conducted in parallel with the negotiations for the release of 9 Lebanese hostages in Azaz, Habib Efrem explained with reference to information from Major General Abbas Ibrahim.
The Bishops are still held captive by a small group of rebels in Bshaktin, 20 km from Aleppo.
Efrem reported that the Turks engaged in the release of Lebanese hostages, are also working for the release of te bishops. They expressed the hope that the archbishop be released until Oct. 15, when Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adh. An article
published in An-Nahar Daily, even claimed that both the bishops are included in the guest list at a conference in Liechtenstein on October 25.
