The march in N.O. last Saturday was very
good...members of the New Orleans Coalition Against
War(NOCAW), C3, CAWI, Common Ground, Veterans For
Peace, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, UFPJ, Texans
For Peace, Pax Christi and the Greens gathered at
Washington Square and marched up Royal St. to the (not
so)Supreme Court building, culminating in 7 speeches
and a rally....the march started roughly at 4pm, and
ended at 7pm, and was followed by a meeting of 15
activists for each org to start the organizing for the
Oct. 27 regional march sponsored by UFPJ...the march
was attended by Judith Leblanc of NYC, a national
An overwhelming majority of spectators in the Quarter
showed full support, even the drunk football fans.
The stress of 2 years of living in disasterland was
apparent on the faces of all that joined us, about
100+ people, but the spirit was phenomenal. People are
ready to storm the Bastille.
Great pins were made and handed out, featuring the
Jena 6 and this action.

at 2903 Jefferson Avenue(UU church has provided space)
for the October 27 event.
