- 4:30 pm
||Latino Cultural Center, Downtown Dallas at 2600 Live Oak Street|
||Ed's Note: The movie is excellent -- don't miss it!|
The Dallas Latino Cultural Center (LCC) has its second free showing of the film: Niger '66: A Peace Corps Diary. The documentary movie is at the same place of the Peace Corps Photo Exhibit; see both at the same time.
This documentary is a homage to the young men and women who as volunteers in the Peace Corps went to Niger in 1966. In present-day interviews, they reflect upon the work they did and how living in Africa for two years changed their lives. In 2008, five of the volunteers returned to Niger to witness how their work influenced the people there.
If you cannot make tonight's documentary, there will another showing at the LCC on Thursday, April 21, 2011 @ 7:00 PM
Latino Cultural Center is located just east of US 75 near Downtown Dallas.
Again, the event is free and open to the public.
