Rockwall County Rockwall resident, Rob Taylor, 59, was recently hired to manage the Dallas Regional Office of the Peace Corps. His position reports to the Director of Recruiting in Washington DC.
Rob's background includes Sr. Team Lead Partnership Specialist with the US Census Bureau, Manager of Performance and Communications with Foxworth-Galbraith Company, and Regional Director of Performance and Quality with Hilton Hotels Corporation. Also, since 1996, Rob has been an Adjunct Faculty with Richland College teaching recruiting, human resources and leadership development. His extensive background includes human resources management, training and development and performance management. Rob and his wife Linda and children Jason and Jenna have lived in Rockwall for 18 years. Rob has a BA Degree in Political Science from Western Kentucky University and a MA Degree in Personnel Management from Central Michigan University. Rob is also a member of the Rockwall American Legion Post 117, and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
The Dallas Peace Corps Staff are responsible for recruiting in10 states to obtain volunteers to join the Peace Corps. In 1961 President John F. Kennedy established the Peace Corps to promote world peace and friendship. The Peace Corps mission has three goals; helping the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women; to help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served; and to help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.
In 2011, the Peace Corps will commemorate 50 years of promoting peace and friendship around the world.
