Welcome to a new, more intimate venue for this month's Tango Mouvance…
Beautiful hardwood floor, stunning River view RIGHT ON THE WATER, at the Hudson Valley Writer's Center, at the Metro-North 'Philipse Manor' Train station.
Tango Mouvance will be traveling a bit, dancing across the Tarrytowns over the next couple of months, beginning with April 27th at the Hudson Valley Writer's Center - the beautifully restored old train station building at the Philipse Manor station - just one stop north of Tarrytown (only 3 minutes) in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
This casual, intimate venue offers relaxed romance.. a beautiful view, being right on the water, literally up the steps from the 'Philipse Manor' train-stop platform. While it is more rustic, and doesn't offer the grander of the previous venue (maybe we'll be back there down the road), it is a delicious gem that will bring us close together, and has a lovely veranda, strolling-patio overlooking the water. Come discover the charm and intimacy here. Indeed, a place to inspire writing, telling, and sharing of stories, via the intimacy of dancing Argentine Tango.. (After all, a great Legend was inspired in this village!)
This month we are fortunate, and I am thrilled, to have the delightful DJ - Ilene Marder, gracing us not only with her stellar selection of music, but also her exquisite talent in teaching, with a beginners/mixed level lesson from 7pm to 8pm.
Equally thrilled to have Silvina Guzman make a live guest appearance singing a special tanda..
"Ilene Marder is one of New York’s most popular and respected DJ’s. Known as La Rubia Del Norte, she plays for the top milongas of NYC, and has played at milongas and festivals in Boston, Miami, Toronto, Chicago, Philadelphia, and throughout New York’s Hudson Valley. She is in-demand for her ability to read and energize the floor with the most beautiful, inspiring tandas, and is one of the few non-Argentines to DJ full nights at prestigious milongas in Buenos Aires, including several nights at Salon Canning, Porteño y Bailerin, and the Estilo Parque Patricios Festival." - Supersabino
