Larry (and anyone else interested),
Anyone visiting, whether at the uppcoming Symposium or otherwise, is
always welcome to bring the above and shoot all the pictures they
desire, as long as , of course, such activity is not disruptive to
other visitors. I have always taken it as a compliment when people
have requested to do so.
Security, unfortunately, has become an issue that, sadly, we all
must deal with. Just as the hassle of going through airport
security is an annoying procedure foisted on the vast majority of
travelers by the acts of a few, I suppose that in the future those
of us opening our layouts to visitors may have to restrict the
carriage of some items into the railroad room (i.e., large bags,
camera cases, knapsacks, etc.). Whatever decisions we make in this
regard, hopefully it will be a uniform policy so you will know what
is expected at all our layouts. Please don't take whatever we come
up with personally - it's just a reflection of the environment we
all live in these days.
I look forward to seeing as many people (AND their cameras!) as
possible next February.
