I teach 7-12 life and earth science at in a tiny rural district in
Northeast Iowa. I did the assesment center exercises in late June and am
now playing the waiting game. I started the process in late October last
year. If you are just starting I would suggest reading and highlighting
the standards booklet over and over and over again. Make a filing system
so that you can save EVERYTHING, even seemingly insignificant stuff during
the school year. Start videotaping EARLY- your "perfect" lesson can easily
end up having a technical problem so you need to have many to choose from.
