I included (cut & pasted) chronicles of emails to parents and students.... following a situation over a period of time. I believe I just chose 2 or 3 students and used the back & forth emails from the student & parents to show how I work with them. I did not include a phone log at all, but a couple of the emails I included mentioned phone conversations with parents.I had students do an assignment that involved asking a parent / guardian questions and working with them to find answers (mainly on the internet or concerning a parent's occupation). This was a starting point to show interaction between all three.... myself, student & parent.I think what helped me was all of the documentation I placed in the entry. I was a mess thinking that it wasn't 'official' enough... notes from parents and students, bits and pieces from many different written conversations. I even offered credit for students and parents to write me notes or emails discussing particular practices that helped them with the class or understanding material, etc. I gave VERY specific parameters.. . no "Mrs. L, you're the greatest :-) , etc. This was very hard for me to do, because I felt like I was asking for a pat on the back, but it was an invaluable collection of data! Not only for my entry, but to see what I was doing that was memorable, and what was helping the most.I talked about involvement in planning and implementing practices in our school and district, and again had examples of impact and notes from parents, students, and other teachers to show how student learning improved.I think the most important thing to remember (besides the fact that it is all about impacting students) was that the name of the entry is a gross misnomer... it was not about documenting my accomplishments. ... but showing how I strive to make student learning and understanding better from several different angles.I hope this helps, and if you have specific questions, I'll be happy to try to answer!Cindy L
