A friend of mine got a 4 on their scientific inquiry. She was middle school. The students dissected owl pellets. She said the students were excited and really into the activity. I think that is what they are looking for. Student involvement. This is the entry I scored the lowest on, and I think it was because of lack of enthusiam of my students. The last segment of one group presenting was the best part and showed inquiry into what they learned. Who knows. Anything can work if it is analyzed correctly. Good luck.

My experience with "retaping" wasn't great because the students knew the "answer" and their response simply wasn't genuine.
I really had problems taping my "labs" because of my room situation. My students had to work facing the wall. I explained everything but only scored a 2.75 (I think) on that entry. Of course this could have been been because of my inquiry approach.
If the lesson is really good and you can hear the response, I'd probably use it. You can always keep taping and try for a better one.
Subject: [NBPTS-AdolAdult-Sci] Another Entry 2 question
I have video tape a really good lessons, but the camera person did not get the reactions of the students. The lesson includes some good ponts from me and the students, but I am only able to see a couple of students and mainly the back of their heads. The audio supports student reaction, but the video does not. How would that go over with the assessors? Should I retape?
