Palestinians: IDF places several closures in West Bank

Palestinian media sources reported that the IDF had imposed closures on several areas in the West
Bank, the Itim News Service reported Monday.
According to the report, the IDF placed closures on Palestinian areas under Israel security control
in Hebron. It also said that the a clsoure was placed on Turmus Aya, east of Ramallah, and that
troops had carried out operations inside the village.
The reports contrast sharply with Israeli media reports that the IDF has continued to carry out the
directions of Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer to ease sanctions on the Palestinians in the
On Sunday the IDF lifted a closure from the Palestinian-controlled city of Jericho in the West Bank,
despite continuing clashes in the territories between Palestinians and IDF troops Sunday in which

The French News Agency reported that Sunday night IDF troops entered territory under Palestinian
Authority security control (Area A) after two mortars were fired at the settlement of Netzarim in

Police in Hebron arrested two Palestinians in the West Bank village of el-Khader on suspicion of
throwing firebombs and stones at Israeli vehicles, Israel Radio reported Monday.
A bomb exploded near IDF troops northeast of Nablus in the West Bank. There were no injuries.
Security coordination talks at the level of Israeli and Palestinian officers were held Sunday night
