Sun, 13 October 2013 -- This morning there was some small passerine activity in the Westport area. I pulled into a turnout north of town to find a HORNED LARK standing on the ground. It was a fairly pale bird with not much yellow but on the throat. Shutting off the engine was the wrong move; it turned-tail and flew north, showing its white-edged, black tail. At the Westport Headlands Park (in town), there was a SAY'S PHOEBE. Wages Creek actually had a flock of migrants including a Black-throated Gray and 3 Yellow Warblers. Chadbourne Gulch was silent.
