Since I've been besieged by a massive amount of emails (three, to be
precise) wanting to know just what "CON-Troll" is, here's the run-
down for you:
First, unless something changes at the last moment, I will be located
in the Main Hall. So my events ONLY run during the hours the Main
Hall is open. Keep that in mind. In years past, the "gaming" area
in the Main Hall has been in the near left corner (as you enter.) To
the best of my knowledge that is going to be the case this year
also. (Joe, if I'm wrong, please don't beat me...)
My "events" include,
The CON-Troll Game Library: An assortment of games ranging from the
simple (UNO) to complex (Axis & Allies) available for you to sit
down, open the box and play to your heart's content. (Well, until
they close the Hall and sic the guard dogs on you anyway...) Games
available in the library may include: Attack!, Axis & Allies,
BattleBall, BattleCry!, Classic BattleTech, Creepy Freaks, Dino Hunt,
Formula 'De, Fortress America, G.I. Joe TCG, Hacker, HeroClix, Lunch
Money, Mage Knight, MechWarrior Dark Ages, Monsters Menace America,
MLB Sportsclix, Memoir '44, Munchkin, Ogre, Risk, Risk 2210, Settlers
of Catan, Star Wars the Queen's Gambit, UNO and possibly more!
Hot Wheels Race Rally: A cool racing game using Hot Wheels (and/or
Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, etc.) cars. You can compete anytime the
Hall is open. Races take only a few minutes to complete. Race
between other events and/or whenever you wander by! Even better, you
are welcome to bring and race your own Hot Wheels cars!
Battle Masters Total War: A giant fantasy army battle game (based on
Games Workshop's award-winning Warhammer Fantasy background) that is
easy to learn how to play. The campaign to save (or destroy) the
Empire will last all weekend, but you can play whenever you want!
All the miniatures are provided, but if you have painted "units" from
the original "Battle Masters" game, feel free to bring them for use
in whichever army you choose to fight for!
Bowling: Actually, this event isn't approved/finalized yet. But if
it does get approved, basically it's bowling for kids. No, no. I
don't mean setting kids up at the end of an alley and rolling bowling
balls at them... (though now that I think about it...) NO! BAD
TROLL! *Ahem* I meant that it's a two-lane toy bowling setup for
kids! Don't worry. Everything is made out of soft vinyl, so the
chances of toddlers bludgeoning each other is minimal. (Though
they'll probably try anyway...)
So that's what "CON-Troll" is! Drop in the hall and see me, okay?
