This weekend, last Friday I got to my sailboat to begin opening it up
after a couple of weeks. One of the other sail;boat owners told me about
a problem with his boat.
It seems last Wednesday in Fairhaven, MA (across the Achushnet River from
New Bedford) they had a thunderstorm that for 5 minutes more or less, had
winds with as force of 80 - 100 mph at the marina and pulled a boat (his)
with it's mooring and drove it into the 'dolphin' holding the finger pier
in place just behind my boat (no visible damage to mine).
Howerm the wind force unsnapped all my snaps on my dodger, with very
little damage to the dodger itself (for the past two year I've been
lubricating my snap fasteners with a lubricant just for that purpose.
Probably a silicon grease),
