Maryland Returned Volunteers Annual Picnic - September 20
Mark your calendars for the Maryland Returned Volunteers Annual Picnic
on Saturday, September 20 from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Remember our picnic last year when Peace Corps Director Gaddi Vasquez
spoke to us about the future of the Peace Corps. Read the story and
look at pictures on the web at:
This year will be even better. In addition, to food, drink,
bar-b-que, fishing, hiking, volleyball and a tour of a local
blacksmith shop, this year the new President of the National Peace
Corps Association, Kevin Quigley, will be our special guest and will
talk to us about new directions for the NPCA.
Put Saturday, September 20 on your calendar right now for the Annual
Fall Picnic for the Returned Volunteers of Maryland.
We will be holding our picnic at Tom Jacob's (RPCV Chile) farm near
Sykesville, the same as last year.
The picnic will start at 2 pm. We are asking each RPCV to bring a
dish. If you can prepare a dish from your Country of Service to share
with other RPCVs, so much the better. There will be several grills
available for bar-b-q. Soft drinks and draft beer will be furnished.
This is always our best attended event of the year and we are
expecting a crowd. Last year we had to limit attendance to the first
100 people who confirmed they were going to attend so if you plan to
come, send a reply right now to HugoPickens@...
to confirm that
you and your family are going to attend and let us know how many to
expect in your party.
Directions to the farm will be emailed to confirmed attendees.
