I was away for nine days and returned to new birds. The d e juncos have moved on. The white throated sparrows have shown up and it's great hearing their songs. Also back, are the chipping sparrows that live in our yard each summer. A group of about 10 pine siskins just showed up as well.
The chickadees have returned to the feeder after vacating it while the d e juncos were here.
(The red bellied woodpecker has graced the peanut feeder at least five times today. Still no mate for her...)
This is a great time of the year for watching birds!
