Sept. 25 Movie Event Spotlights Connections Between Health, Neighborhood Design
Capital Region Sustainable Communities will host a movie screening and discussion for people interested in the connection between community health and neighborhood design.
The PBS series “Designing Healthy Communities” looks at the impact our built environment has on key public health outcomes such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, cancer and depression. The third film in the four-part series, “Social Policy in Concrete,” connects community design with growing health costs, and highlights what people around the country are doing about it.
What do you make of the movie’s claim that “it is every citizen’s right to live in a clean, healthy environment?” Come and join the conversation!
Date: Tuesday, Sept. 25
Location: Goodman South Madison Branch Library
Show starts at 5:30, with discussion to follow from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
