I have run across an old sidesaddle in a museam that has a woman's and dog's
head carved into it. The carvings are nicely done, not stylized, but actual
examples of nice figure carving.
I thought figure carving was a recent innovation and this surprises me.
When did figure carving start being used?
Has anyone heard of this saddlemaker----J B Frew- who had a shop in Harrison
ARk at the turn of the last century?
