My mystery Myiarchus has begun calling consistently in a perfectly
normal Dusky-capped Flycatcher voice. I've submitted it to the CBRC for
the review, and I guess I'll submit to Kimball Garrett for North
American Birds, too. I'm unabashedly excited about this because it's my
first review bird and it's only a mile from my apartment!
My wife and I found the bird easily this morning between 7:00 and 8:00.
It was feeding high in the Eucalyptus and calling regularly in the misty
rain. Yesterday morning I found it about 7:45, and it didn't vocalize
until after I saw it. I missed it on the 28th in the fog.
I posted a link to a map on the 27th. E-mail me off-list if you need
any more information.
