OK, I will try to tell you EVERYTHING I know. Let's start with MYSELF. I am 29 years old. My grandmother on my Mothers side is the polish side. Here is her family info:
Anna and Jan Szajna, that is my grandma's parents (My GREAT grandparents) were deported Feb 10, 1940. Jan Szajna had 1 brother Stanley Szajna who married Bronislawa Pola. They had 1 child Leona, who lives in Pennsylvania USA and is still living now. Jan also had 2 sisters, Caroline Szajna, who married Kutchick and had 3 children, John (passed away young) and Chessie who lived in Poland during the war and managed to hide during the war, later moved to Maryland USA and passed away recently (unfortunately before I started looking in to all this info) And 1 more son named Kashmir Kutchick who is still alive in USA. I am going to try to get my grandma to contact him. The other sister of Jan's is SALOMEA SZAJNA. From what I hear of her, she married twice. First marriage was to last name of PACMOLEWSKI, she had 1 child Genoesa (grandma says it means Jane). In her second marriage she married the last mane of LOPOSIEWICZ. With her first marriage, her daughter Genoesa married and had a child with the last name of LIDCKA or LISCKA. We are not sure of the last name. Their (GENOESA) son is still in Poland. All I know is the grandchild's name is Marian, not sure if it is a man or woman.
Jan's mother was ANIELA WOLF and Father was WOJTEH SZAJNA.
I am not sure about Anna's side of the family. Her maiden name was BARRAN. Both Jan and Anna were born in Austria-Hungry. They both came to USA in their twenties, SEPARATELY. They did not meet until their move to PA USA. they (Jan and Anna had 3 kids, HELEN, WALTER and JOE. From what I hear Joe died very young(19) in Poland from a dog bite that MAYBE turned into rabies. He died in 1916 grandma says. Helen, who is my grandma lives in New York USA. Walter died in 1950s. He lived in Chicago. All of Jan and Anna's children were born in USA. Anna sent either Walter or Joe, not sure which one to Poland when he was 5 for schooling and he lived with the SALOMEA SZAJNA. Then shortly after Anna went to Poland and loved it so much she wanted to live there. So in 1923 they purchased their land and built their home and JAN came to live also. I am not sure exactly which of Anna's and Jan Szajna's children lived in Poland. Helen DID not ever go. But Joe and Walter might have both lived there a while.
This should be a great intro for you.
Look forward to hearing from you again SOON
