Alexander, perhaps you can check your databases for information on the deported families?

Subject: Re: Kresy Siberia group
My name is Grazyna, and I live in Western Canada. I am trying to research my family history and appreciate you letting me know of your site.
Both of my paternal grandparents lived in the Kresy region of what was then Poland and is now Belarus. In 1940 my father's family lived in the area of Dawid Grodek at "Osada Wysoka / Wysokie". They used the surname NIEUMIERZYCKI (variations Niewmierzycki, Niemierzycki). My grandparents names were Michal and Julia Nieumierzycki. My father's name was Marian, he was born October 16, 1929 and was deported to Siberia with his family on February 10th, 1940. I am also researching my paternal grandmother's family, her maiden name was LESZKIEWICZ and this family lived in areas around Moczul, Wielemicze, Remel, Olpien, etc.
As I grew up in Canada, under very different circumstances, I am struggling to understand a place and time I know very little about, and about which many conflicting stories are written. Each of the peoples have a different perspective of events, of the history, and the circumstances that bind them. My father died when I was very young and so I have only glimpses of his past. Therefore, this group, and others like it, are invaluable in providing access to some information that might otherwise be unavailable.
