Welcome Gary Kozimor
Please welcome Gary Kozimor to the group.
Gary, I am not familiar with Polska Wola - is anyone else in the group?
You can get more info on your family at Monte Cassino from the UK Ministry of Defense. Tell them you are next of kin and they will send you a release form to fill out.
Also, the Hoover Institution has a written statement from a Wladyslawa Kozimor, student from Kopczynce (Tarnopol province) in box 197. One of your aunts? Get info on both of these sources at http://www.aforgottenodyssey.com/reference.html
Don't give up on your Dad - many of us have had similar experiences, and some of our relatives have opened up when they realised if they did not pass on the stories they would die with them. But it is often difficult and their experiences were often horrific, especially as young children...
PS your grandfather would be "Andrzej".

Thank you for taking the time to drop me a line.
Now for the hard part a brief account of why I want to join your group.
My Uncle Jan Kozimor has just passed away leaving my Father Franciszek as the last surviving member of his family. At my uncles funeral I realized I knew so little of my Fathers family history so with a little help from your group I hope to learn about my fathers family.
My father was born in a village called Polska Wola where his family were farmers. I believe this is now part of the Ukrain, so I not sure if this is the area you are covering. He had three sisters, and his mothers name was Weronika and his fathers name was Andzay (not to sure on the spelling of that one) as I said before unfortunately he is the only one still alive. They were made to move to Siberia where they had to work in a soviet work camp (lumber jack). My Grandfather and uncle both fought at Monte Casino. I believe my Grandmother and Father stayed at Tengeru camp. After the war my Grandmother, Grandfather, Father and Uncle settled in England. I hope this is enough as I not to sure on a lot of things as I dont like to press my Dad to talk about it. Im sure he would love to hear from anybody who remembers him and his family.
Kind regards,Gary Kozimor
