Subject: Re: Kresy-Siberia
My connection is that my uncle Theodore Konieczek from Strzelce (gmina
Olesnica) just passed away. His entire family was deported by the Russians
who herded them all to the train station and shipped them off to Siberia. He
lost his father and a brother there. He later was in the Polish Army at age
16 he lied about his age and he and his brother fought at Monte Cassino
where his brother was killed. He was a member of Polish Army Veterans Post
1. I don't know if this qualifies me but I am proud to have had my uncle
Ted who went through so much and had nothing. To me he was a true hero for
Poland. This is what I know of him. Thank you
James Matthew Wasiura.
