My name is Gerry Cierpilowski and I live in central Pennsylvania, USA,
in small town of about 12,000. I am writing my 85-year old cousin's story
of deportation and am hoping to have it published in book form. She
remembers an incredible amount, but there are some names that escape her.
She spent 18 months in a logging labor camp in the mid Ural mountains not
too far from Perm (then called Molotov) on the Chusovaya River in a camp
called Kryvoya. There was another logging camp walking distance (several
hours) from it which may have been called Opikne Pole, but she's not sure.
Her sister's family was interned in that camp. Can anyone help me with the
name of that work camp?
Basia, Good luck with your search! You can find details of Jozef, born 1915, father Jozef here: http://www.indeks.karta.org.pl/pl/szczegoly.jsp?id=110563 ThisApr 3, 2012 127 of 127View SourceBasia,Good luck with your search! You can find details of Jozef, born 1915, father Jozef here:This refers you to the Polish Army Central Archive, CAW, who will have details of the first three entries. I'd email them with full details of your father, these references and ask for copies of any papers they have. They are very good at responding, but it does take some months. Don't forget to provide them with a postal address. Whilst you're at it why not ask for your grandfathers records?email CAW at: caw@...JanuszUK----- Original Message -----From: BasiaSent: Tuesday, April 03, 2012 12:51 PMSubject: [Kresy-Siberia (est.2001)] IntroductionMy name is Basia Zielinska, I live in Sydney and have very recently become aware of the group.I am seeking information about my father Jozef Zielinski who was interned in Siberia before 1942.I only know from stories that he was in Siberia and I want to find out as much information as I can.My father died when I was 10 years old so my information about him is scant though I do have his soldier's book from England, and there is a bit of information there about him, post 1942I also have a few photos, one is particularly intriguing, a group of soldiers which may be interesting to other members.I look forward to setting this search in motion and look forward to instructions from members, which may help me.Kind regardsBasia Zielinska--
