Thanks for you insights and clarifications.
I am in the midst of writing a memoir about my Polish family and wanted to send some thoughts out as I uncover more information...
thank you for any details you may know ..
1/ I am attempting to locate the camp my family had been taken to in the Novosibirsk region; they were dropped off at a station southeast of that city in 1940; the village where that station was is/was called Cheraponovo.
2/ I was interviewing a woman today about the "amnesty" and being able to leave the camp and she mentioned that some people had to "pay" to get out of the camp? Does this sound correct to anybody ...?
3/My Uncle recalls some men "adopting" families/family members; hence being military members, they would go on to join the fight against Hitler and could leave with "family."
Again, thank you for any insights, clarifications, etc.
