Have you thought about contacting Boguslaw Turkiewicz (son of your grandfather's brother Jozef) directly regarding further information about Mieczyslaw Turkiewicz? Since Jozef lived in Lublin after WWII as did your great-grandmother Jozefa, and Jozefa enquired about Mieczyslaw through the Red Cross in 1946, maybe Boguslaw can shed some light on his fate.
