Oh ! Suffolk, my stumping grounds. Wattisham RAF Station near Ipswich. Lakenheath US Air Base near
Mildenhall and Brandon. Bury St. Edmunds, the place with many Pubs. Here I got influenced by american
Pork and Beans, Lucky Strike cigatetts and overall Yanks. War in Korea gave me a good excuse to join
US Army anf here I am, after 20 years of service, seeing the world, being shot at, flying, sailing and walking,
decided to quit with roughly 1000 miles short to close the ring arround the globe from Almaty, Kazakhstan to
Bankok, Thailand. Now, just cooling it and fishing in good old North Carolina, USA.

Subject: [Kresy-Siberia] Rougham Camp - Suffolk
I have been following the trail of my late fathers journey to Australia.
His documents for arrival in Hobart, Tasmania on the Strathnaver (8/8/1948) list port of embarcation as London and previous address as Rougham Camp - Suffolk. Would anyone have further info on what Polish troops would have been there. I believe he came directly to the UK from Palestine.
