Thank you for the YouTube link. One doesn't need to understand Polish to
be moved by it.
It might well have been on the record player at the Polish bar on
Faubourg Bannier in Orleans. I have never seen a "jukebox" like that
one. It consisted of a little table with a turntable and twenty or
thirty 78 rpm records scattered around. There was a plastic (glass?) box
over it with a hole in the top, small enough so that you couldn't remove
a record.. You reached through the hole, selected a record, placed it on
the turntable, and put the needle at the beginning of the track. Then
you put a 20 (possibly 50?) franc coin into a slot, which gave you the
three or four minutes required to play the record.
(The exchange rate was 400-450 francs to the US dollar.)
