According to one cadet's essay, the April 13 train from Lwow whose
destination was Ajaguz/Ayagoz set him down on May 1. So his journey
seems to have lasted 17 days. By my best guess, he was put down
somewhere south of Semey but before Ayagoz, a range of several hundred
miles, so it seems unlikely that the train trip could have lasted more
than one day beyond his experience of it. He was thirteen in April 1940
and fifteen (possibly sixteen) when he wrote the essay.
Alas, he doesn't give a count of the people in his boxcar!
