How true your words! Below is a portion of an email I sent earlier
today regarding the Kresy-Siberia Memorial Wall:
Another thing that we can all do is to ask all survivors that we know (relatives and family friends) to bear witness for others who are no longer with us for the record. This would be people who were deported from the same osada, village, town, or whatever. Many times I was going to write my 3 surviving aunts and their cousins in the US and Canada, but lack of time gets in the way of everything yet does not stand still. Two weeks ago my oldest aunt and godmother suffered a stroke. I am not sure yet how much she will be able to help us now.
Please, Group! If you have not already done so, add the names of your family to the Memorial Wall! Ask your family members for the names of other inhabitants who were deported with them! It is possible that some of these families were wiped out totally. Time is running out! Please!
Call them, visit them, or write them. If your relatives are not online, the next time they visit, show them the Memorial Wall.
Everyone please read the Criteria and Guidelines which can be reached by clicking on "Submit New Names" at the bottom of the Wall Home page. At the bottom of the Criteria page, click on "Click here for Guidelines." Most of us know our family histories like the back of our hands. It does not take much time at all--I promise you. Send as many submissions as you want. The names do not have to be sent all at the same time. Any questions, please email me, Krystyna, Stefan, or Elzunia. We are here to help.
Thank you group members who have already submitted names.
I would especially like to thank survivors Romuald Lipinski,
Janek Wojciechowski, and Roman Skulski for all the names they have given and continue to give! They have tapped their memories and papers for names of long ago! Thank you, gentlemen!
