I'm sending this message again because of the appearance of a number of A's!! Hope it will be ok this time.
How very frustrating. Do you think that if more people wrote it might help. I guess that they receive so many emails they probably don't look at them very carefully. If you were able to supply me with the email addresses or just normal addresses I'm quite happy to write by post or email or both) I could have a go. Would something like this be acceptable?
Polish Forces in WII - Your support is needed.
An on-line petition has been raised, asking the government to rectify what we see as a lack of recognition for the contribution of the Polish armed forces in WWII. The petition can be found at
number10. gov.uk/polishfor ces
We need signatures from at least 500 individuals in order for the petition to even be considered by the government.
We are asking for your support in helping us make as many people as possible aware that this petition exists as we feel that it would rectify a long-standing source of ill feeling between the Polish community and the British government.
My understanding, having read the FAQs on the petition web site, is that you can only have one signature per email address. Also it wasn't clear what a person can do if they do not have an email address. (I was thinking about friends of my parents from London who being in their 80s may not be computer literate). It says you can submit a signed paper petition, but it is not clear if you can submit both an email and a written petition together.
