I need your help please. I am trying to trace what happened to my grandfather during the war. He was a Kapitan in the Polish army. He was born in Russia in 1888 and went to Moscow University. He fought in WW1 and was captured by the Germans and imprisoned in Magdeburg Castle. On release he turned up in Lithuania/Poland as he was Polish and the grandson of a tsarist Sybirak. He married my grandmother in1922. At some point he was in England ?date 1919-20? when he met the King. He was part of a delegation. He was a saper, captured by the Soviets, imprisoned in Wilno then Lubianka, was tortured and sentenced to death but was saved by a university friend and sent to Siberia for hard labour. He was released in the amnesty and later fought with the allies in Egypt. He would not talk much about it so I would love to try and find out more about his life.
As you are the K-S guru, can you help and direct me please?
All the best, Basia
