we spoke before re; your family of Harasimowicz from Stolowicze. A large family as I recall deported to various parts of USSR and for different reasons.
I visited Baranowicze only recently and Stolowicze is just a stone throw from there.
I travelled via Minsk for various reasons, but my family is in Baranowicze.
I would say the travel via Warsaw to Brzesc and a train to Baranowicze is the swiftest and border controls between Poland and Belarus at that crossing are easy and Belarussians eagerly await visitors. I am not sure about USA visitors, but be sure to point out while seeking visa that your family originate from that area. Perhaps you can give an address and very likely they will ask for a telephone no of your family/relatives.
I am not sure how you are proposing to establish contact as English is very rarely heard and certainly not in public hearing.
Polish also is sparce; however my suggestion would be to contact Dom Polski in Baranowiczach and ask for someone to help you; I can give you contacts; but there again they do not speak English;it is just possible that they can arrange for you to stay with them at the Dom; alternatively hotel Horizont should be your base; it is an International hotel with good facilities and they have an English speaking assistant at the desk. Look at hotels in Baranowicze and you'll have an e-mail for them to contact.
