I'm sorry but I've had a few months of ongoing health problems and I haven't been very involved with the group so I'm not sure which DVD you are referring to... is it something that can be purchased? I'm sorry to be so dense and out of sync.
Regarding the "video capture", most good software programs that "play" a DVD will have a button that you click to "capture" a screen picture. For example, InterVideo Win DVD, which came with my PC, has a button which looks like a camera and if you click it the image on the screen is saved to a special file. I've tried RealPlayer and W. Media Player but I can't find this "capture" feature. I don't think that you need to go to the lengths of plugging in camcorders and the like, you just need a decent software program. I hope that this helps a bit.
With warmest regards,

Subject: [Kresy-Siberia] Watched 'Lost Requiem' film
Watched first on the TV by DVD player, in Polish with Eng subtitles,
but you have to read the subtitles very fast So, it was easier to
watch it on computer because you can keep stopping/starting to catch
up with yourself.
There are LOADS of FACES that someone may have in their family, and
you can 'pause' the computer easily for a closer look! Also, you can
read many of te names on gravestone in the 'Polish Cemetry' in the
It's well worth getting this film. Maybe some clever computer-bod
could tell us how to 'capture' a face when the film is on the
computer?? There is some way if you an run your camcorder film into
the compute, but it's way beyond me!
