My mother also has NOT a single official document, only a few photographs from Tengeru, Africa. I applied for the cross for her approximately 2 years ago, adding a handwritten letter in Polish explaining the situation and enclosing 3 photographs from Africa and a copy of the 1942 Red Cross USSR evacuation listing. All the forms were signed and authorised by the SPK secretary in Ipswich and posted off to the SPK headquarters in London, using an addressed envelope that they had issued to me.
Well, to date I have heard absolutely nothing, not even an acknowledgement of receipt of the forms, so I assume that Mother will receive nothing. I have since bought a Siberian medal on EBay and although I do not know whether it is authentic or not, at least Mum will have some sort of acknowledgement of her family's suffering.
With warmest regards,

Hi Bozena,Antoni and All,
To apply for the cross are certain documents needed?
I would like to help my father apply for the cross but we have no
documents at all.I have tried all the avenues that the group has
unearthed to find documentation and have had help from some of the
group members and associates but have yet to find one scrap of evidence
that my father existed apart from the fact he is sitting next to me.
Is it possible to just apply or is some form of evidence needed,my
guess is it will be needed
