These photos were taken in 1943 by US photographer Nick Parrino and the
originals (plus a few not on the Iranian website) are found in the US
Library of Congress, at link http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/index.html

Yes I agree Eve, these pictures were not taken at exact time the Polish
refugees were just stepping off the ships. Looks like they've had a few
weeks to set up tents and get nourished up.
But it is enjoyable to see any pictures from that era. It is surprising how
many pictures are around of post amnesty and virtually none, zero, of pre
amnesty eh? J

With pictures like these, is it any wonder the Polish deportations
still receive virtually no press or media attention??? As I thought
when I saw these pictures the last time, they were evidently taken
after much time in Iran, and not right after arrival! I think these
pictures were taken to implant a too rosey image to the world.
