Group, since the topic of the Warsaw Uprising came up over the last few days I thought I might add this article which appeared in my local newspaper TheMessage 1 of 3 , Aug 3, 2007View SourceGroup,since the topic of the Warsaw Uprising came up over the last few days I thought I might add this article which appeared in my local newspaper "The Windsor Star".I had the opportunity to visit the forests outside of Warsaw where the Soviets had entrenched while the uprising was going on and in those forests were probably thousands of very large pits dug every few yards, as far as one could see in any direction, in which the Soviet tanks would back into on an incline in order to fire artillary at a trajectory that might land on the city. A great aunt had told the story of how they could see the Soviets on the other side and how depressing it became when they realized there would be no immediate effort to liberate Warsaw.Terry Polewskips- sorry attaching it to this previous note but I could not add an attachment through the new message category
