As far as the statements go: yes, I’m sure they’ll be very interesting reading. Send the translated version to me; both as a Word doc and as a .jpg file and I’ll upload them either to Yahoo or the Gallery.

Hi Elzunia and Zbigniew
Thank you both for locating Maczkowce on the map and for the remarkable
details of the journey to Kotlas. Elzunia I would like to take you up on
your offer to send me a copy of the map, if that's what you were offering.
I had a remarkable evening with my aunt Danka earlier this week when I took
her the photocopied documents of her and her sister's statements to the
Polish authorities in Guzar. These date from April 1942. I have them
translated into English, but in my barely legible scrawl at this stage. As
soon as I can get them onto this laptop I will send to the group. I hope
they will help the group understand conditions, as have been discussed
recently on another thread, because these two statements are not memories
from sixty-five years distance, with all the potential for confusion, errors
etc. These were written in April '42, fresh in the minds of the two young
girls / woman. Zofia was 17 and Danka 15 at the time of writing.
Perhaps it would be best if I sent as an attachment to someone who could put
it on the site rather than as a long email? Please advise.
