Please welcome Nancy (Weber) Rachowiecka to the group. Two members from WV
in one day!
Nancy, thanks for your intro - it is wonderful to see how you are interested
in this little-known (and little-discussed) history of the Polish past. If
you visit our websites, you will also find many sources of information and
history on these events.
Also, please feel free to ask the group any questions - all members share a
common interest in the research, remembrance and recognition of these
I hope that you tell Alec about this group and that the history is beginning
to get better known...

My name is Nancy Rachowiecka and I work in a
publishing company in West Virginia, and also teach a
class at the university here in Morgantown, WV. I am
glad to be welcomed to join the Kresy-Siberia Group
discussion on the internet. My husband Marek
Rachowiecki passed away in 1998, but I keep in contact
with his parents and family, who live in England. Both
his parents' families were from the eastern areas of
Poland. My father-in-law Alec was in Anders' army and
fought at Monte Cassino. He attends the reunions in
Italy each time they have them -- maybe someone on the
list might actually be one of his friends!
I so very much want to learn about my late husband's
life and how it was affected so much by the events
surrounding the deportation and relocation of his
parents to Siberia.
Thank you so much. I look forward to learning more.
