As you can see I’ve been tidying up the Poetry files – please let me know if I’ve missed any acknowledgments.

Subject: [Kresy-Siberia] My poem "Mamusia and the Red Scarf"
I had a nice surprise this week as I saw my poem "Mamusia and the Red Scarf" published in the SPK w Kanadzie. I wrote this for every mother lost in the journey out of bondage, and left behind in an unmarked grave. What I wanted to share with the group is the acknowledgement given to me for writing it...as of course my inspiration comes from within the group. The words are so touching, but more than just for me...I feel that these words apply to everyone in the group who takes the time to share one of their family stories and enlightens us with memories and facts from just one more person, who is weaved into this historical patchwork of memories.
The editor wrote to me:
There are always many anonymous victims of war atrocites. I cannot but quote Wislawa Szymborska's Hunger Camp at Jaslo. " History counts its skeletons in round numbers; A thousand and one remains a thousand, as though the one had never existed".
Thankyou for remembering that "one".
