Key that in the google and you'll see the extent of
writing by various survivors. Many from Ukrainian areas.
I believe that this is a possibility-by far the
largest nos of prisoners and deportees went through these camps on the
border of taiga and tundra near to the Arctic circle where the vegetation is
short and naturally would be full of wolves and bears, just as you described.
