since i have rediscovered these long lost family
tree branches - obvious questions come up. Like why did my grandmother
loose contact with her two elder brothers.
My newly acquired second cousin who is also
genealogy crazy has also started asking questions of his aunts (ie my mothers
The more questions we ask that are obvious the more
skeletons in the family closet do we stumble upon.
For example - one of my mothers cousins supposedly
was raped and then committed suicide. Now question by whom and
Next - my grandmothers younger sister was annoyed
that the eldest brother received all the family property from their fathers
will? Question is this true, did it impact on the relationships of the
other sibilings, and when did pradziadek die?
One of my grandmothers sister and her family
remained in Sarny. Why didnt the memory and knowledge of that branch of
the family remain with the other siblings and their children?
The other thing we discovered was that two second
cousins live in the same suburb in Warszawa - a matter of streets from each
other - without knowledge of each other!!!!!! One cousin said that it
appears as if the whole of Sarny (or at least the subsequent generations) have
gravitated to Warszawa.
Now the question is it worth - digging up more of
these family skeletons! Because we never know what we may come up
with. And there are still people alive from that era that could be hurt
and may want events to remain beyond the mists of time.
