I will be giving email instructions to send petitions to the Governor of California, hopefully later today.
Petitions containing handwritten signatures must be sent regular mail (Air Mail out of the US).
It occurred to me that people living out of the USA can contact their country's ambassador to the US about this matter? It would not hurt!
I don't see anything wrong with signing the petition ONCE if you have already written a letter of protest. We have to blitz them with these petitions. As soon as one is returned to the SENDER, it should be sent immediately to California. I hope that people will circulate more than one petition at a time. Get one back, send another one. Also give petitions to people who will begin to circulate their own petitions.
Joyce kindly gave me these addresses for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and California State Assemblyman Paul Koretz:
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
State Capitol Building
Sacramento, CA 95814
Assemblyman Koretz has two addresses, one in West Hollywood, and one in Sacramento. I feel we should send the petitions to his Sacramento address:
Assemblyman Paul Koretz
Sacramento, CA 94249-0001
His phone number in Sacramento is: (916) 319-2042, and in West Hollywood is:
(310) 285-5490 for those willing to telephone. California or US residents, please phone!
Let's keep the pressure on the city of West Hollywood too:
We should keep the pressure on all Council Members, including the Mayor. A letter, a phone call, an email, wouldn't hurt. West Hollywood should be blitzed also, but not with petitions.
City of West Hollywood
8300 Santa Monica Boulevard
West Hollywood, CA 90069
Telephone: (323) 848-6400
As always, Elzunia, we have the same thoughts. I will be revising the petition per Michael Kulik's statistics and sending it to the group later today. (Thanks, Michael!)
