Thank you for your kind invitation to join your group. Sorry for the
delay in answering (only a year late). My family is from the old,
historical Sandomierz, which used to be much larger than it is today,
bit further to the East. The family lived both in the Austrian
area in the 1st. Partition and in the Russian area after the 3rd.
In this sense, and in others, I am somewhat a kresowiec, too. In the
1988 - 1997 I made several trips to Kazakhstan, and met some "Russians"
there who may have been, actually, descendants of Poles. Some of them
at it, but did so discreetly, since I was in an official capacity
could not appear to favor any one particular group or individual. None
them spoke Polish, but many had very Polish names (e.g. Wisniowecki,
