As a reminder: Students with vehicles on Campus are encouraged to remove those vehicles from City Streets onto College Parking Lots PRIOR to departing the Campus for Winter Break. During the break period there will undoubtedly (and unfortunately) be periods of cold and snow which may result in the declaration of a Snow Emergency by the City of Galesburg.
During such Snow Emergencies all vehicles parked on city Streets are required to be moved to parking lots or other off-street locations to permit City snow plows to clear the streets. Vehicles not moved may be subject to a $25 Snow Emergency ticket. Additionally (and most importantly), unmoved vehicles in violation will also be subject to $50.00 towing fees (and subsequent storage fees of a $25.00 per day) by the City during and after the snow emergency period.
Please share this info with others who have vehicles on Campus and are planning to depart for the break period. Please contact Campus Safety (7979) with any questions/concerns regarding this matter.
