A Tel Aviv-based New Yorker, Schelly Talalay Dardashti focuses on Jewish genealogy as researcher, journalist, speaker and instructor. She has an international audience for her blog: Tracing the Tribe -- The Jewish Genealogy Blog http://tracingthetribe.blogspot.com.
Schelly was the Jerusalem Post/Metro Jewish genealogy columnist ("It's All Relative," 1999-2005); writes for the Jerusalem Post, JTA, other Jewish and genealogy media/ journals; and is a former three-term president of Israel's genealogical society. Her 20-year research covers Spain, Belarus, Lithuania, Russia and Iran; she is the record keeper for the Dardashti (Iran) and Talalay (Belarus) families.
