Subject: [J28Sailors] Just Learned of this Group
I just came across this site and as a J-28 owner thought I would sign up.
I have owned "Huntress" our J-28 since 1996. She is hull number 14, built in 1986 and has lived in Marblehead harbor since coming to town in 1990. Prior to this the boat spent her first few years on Lake George and had a white hull. She was awlgripped flag blue in 1991. Her previous owner was a good friend and took excellent care of the boat. I jumped at the chance to buy her when he moved on to a powerboat. I have tried to maintain the boat in a similar fashion. Huntress is moored close to another J-28, "Rabbit" which is the boat that J-boats used in their print ads.
I truly enjoy this boat-she sails beautifully on every point of sail, is comfortable and well-built. Looking forward to learning more about the various quirks, fixes and suggestions from this group.
