Subject: [Italian Renaissance Costuming] Vecellio translation
I thought I remembered seeing a chapter or two about summer clothing in the
list of upcoming Vecellio translations, but I didn't see it this afternoon when
I read the latest installment on the internet. I was really looking forward
to that one, because I have not been able to find summer garb that I'm happy
with. Right now I'm mostly doing Indian in summer, but if there's an Italian
summer outfit that will stand up to 98 degrees and 90% humidity, I'll give it a
go. Is such a chapter forthcoming, or was I mistaken?
sorry, no, there was nothing specifically about summer clothing in the list of upcoming translations. These are just a small part of the upcoming book however, so there may be information in the book that deals with summer clothing.
For summer clothing your best bet is linen, cotton, or a summer-weight wool, either with loose sleeves or foregoing the sleeves entirely. I find the higher waisted styles better in the heat than the lower waisted ones.
Oh, the latest installment you read (Widows) was actually the one I uploaded around the 23rd of last month, but which I forgot to announce. There is another due today (Prostitutes in Public Places), which I will get online ASAP.
