BEB5959595959 suggested about our top 3 centers and Kvasha:
I think we need to trade one of these guys if possible.... I think Kvasha must play center next season to bring out the best in him,...
I would rather trade Kvasha becasue i reallly like Scatchard's character and i think he will bounce back from the offseason he just had, but i think teams may like scatchard much more and be willing to give more for him...
True, for the reasons you named above, Scatchard IS more desirable for many teams in the league. Kvasha is not only *not more* desirable, but who is really going to give us ANYTHING for him that can either equal his 51 points last season or his potential for more? In addition, is there any doubt that Milbury is gonna trade this guy for anything other than a Heatley or LeCavalier (ha, ha, ha) after having placed his reputation on
the line by giving up Luongo for him??? I think not. Considering Kvasha finally began showing what he was capable of last season, as a center, when he was asked to carry a load he's never carried before AND that Peca has spent two seasons being nothing more than a 3rd line center, I'm afraid Scatchard would have to be the one to go. Yash, Kvasha and Pecs down the middle. Several guys are vying for the fourth line and considering Mapletoft can't be sent to the AHL without going through
wires, then he's the most likely candidate.
What do I suggest? Welp, I'd seriously consider seeing what Keenan would give up for him, cause I have a hunch that he'd be silly enough to offer us Huselius in return, and despite what some of you think, Huselius would be a sure-fire 50+ point left wing next to Yashin or Kvasha. I'd bet on it!
I'd do that deal in heartbeat!

What are some reasonable offseason moves you would like to see, assuming there is a functional offseason and no lockout???
Trade: one of Hamrlik/Niinimaa and one of Kvasha/Scatchard, because i think we have a logjam of 2nd/3rd line players (specifically centers) on this team, and a logjam of Dmen who don't clear the crease and have skills at the same time...I would also consider trading Asham and giving up on him to clear
up a 4th line spot for Bergenheim...
In addition to the one above, I'd not mind seeing either Hamr or Niinimaa go in a trade, much less both. Problem is, we aren't exactly entering a trader's market this summer. The lack of a CBA is putting a halt on EVERYTHING! In fact - and this might bother many Isles' fans who think these two are trade commodities - I feel the Isles are more likely to let these two just plain WALK and then get active in searching for free agents
..... once a CBA is in place. Matvichuk is a name that pops in my head. Would rather pay him 2.2 a season than Niinimaa 2.8. In fact, there are BOATLOADS of FAs, and there'll be more once many RFAs aren't qualified. As soon as a new CBA is in place, this is gonna be a huge buyer's market.
For this reason, I expect that several Isles will walk and that Milbury will sign free agents to fill their holes.... free agents that are cheaper and more defensively-oriented on the blueline while getting more offensively oriented players up front.
Also, if we're letting our biggest bastard in Cairns walk, and we'd look to trade Scatchard, the last guy I'd then let go of is Asham. He's a fine all-round 3rd liner and he'll fight for us. Sure he's inconsistent, but he's also cheap. You don't let a guy with his moxy and that low contract just walk. In fact, you don't trade him either. He's a keeper. Besides, we sure as hell don't need to give up Asham to make room for Bergenheim.
Other than Papineau, he's the only natural left wing we've got left.
